On July 27th, LG CNS hosted the welcoming ceremony for the 4th ‘LG CNS IT Dream Project’ at the head office auditorium.
LG CNS has been annually hosting the ‘LG CNS IT Dream Project’ since 2008 to help teenagers from poor households dreaming of becoming IT experts. The event is run by the Seoul Youth Media Center under the Foundation for Preventing Youth Violence and is sponsored by the Community Chest of Korea.
Eighty participants from LG CNS (including 20 IT Dream Project participants and CEO Daehoon Kim) joined the ceremony for various events including CEO Kim’s welcoming speech, presentation of appointment certificates, participant interviews and mentor-mentee twinning ceremony.
The ‘LG CNS IT Dreamers’ selected this year will get to travel to Beijing and Shanghai for a week during summer vacation and visit China’s key IT companies, universities and the Science and Technology Museum. LG CNS will cover all expenses for the IT Dreamers including air fare and lodging expenses.
After their travels, the Dreamers will be given mentoring opportunities with LG CNS executives and staff currently active as IT experts. For a more systematic mentoring experience, LG CNS will provide coaching training to the mentors (executives and staff) and career exploration training for the mentees (IT Dreamers).
CEO Kim told the Dreamers to “Dream with the spirit and challenging mind of the youth” and promised that “LG CNS will spare no support for you Dreamers challenging to become global IT experts”.
In addition, LG CNS is planning to gradually expand its social contribution activities to sustain its IT Dream Project and to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.
