Title KECO and LG CNS Sign Strategic Agreement to Advance the (Allbaro) Waste Control System Overseas Date 2011-08-19
LG CNS and the Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on strategic cooperation in the ‘overseas advancement of the 'Allbaro System’, Korea’s innovative waste control system.

The 'Allbaro System' is an integrated waste control system developed by KECO. This system manages the entire process transparently and in real-time, from waste discharge to transportation and final processing, and is the only system in the world that integrates and manages the entire waste-related processes as a whole. It is estimated to have saved 9.8 million hours and KRW 133.6 billion per annum in relation to waste control in Korea alone.

This strategic cooperation is meaningful in that it creates synergy through mutual collaboration between the public and the private sectors for the overseas advancement of the ‘Allbaro System’, the competitive domestic environmental IT solution.

As a public institution that inspires public confidence, KECO is responsible for the collaboration between governments in terms of the advancement of the ‘Allbaro System’ into the overseas market. KECO has also agreed to procure the budget for the project with help from organizations such as the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

LG CNS is planning to establish an internationally competitive IT solution in the fields of waste control and environmental improvement by solutionizing the ‘Allbaro System’ for its overseas advancement. It will also provide information on overseas businesses and establish the local networks.

KECO and LG CNS are planning to collaborate on this overseas advancement based on a strategy of localization. The short-term plan is to create a successful case by selecting a priority nation from amongst developing countries receiving KOICA funding. The candidate nations must have severely damaged environments due to rapid increases in harmful waste and a lack of waste management systems caused by accelerated industrialization and urbanization. In the medium to long term, both organizations are planning to expand their markets throughout Southeast Asia, the Americas, Europe and China.

A spokesperson for KECO commented, “The overseas expansion of the Allbaro System is greatly meaningful in that it not only contributes to improving the international environment, but it also supports the overseas advancement of IT companies in the midst of the saturation of the domestic environmental IT market. By collaborating with LG CNS, the representative IT service provider of Korea, we will seek to prove the excellence of the Allbaro System in the global market.”

A spokesperson for LG CNS said, “LG CNS is actively seeking to advance overseas by concentrating on seven overseas markets, including China, the Americas and Southeast Asia. We will also endeavor to successfully advance the Allbaro System overseas and to create a Made-in-Korea environmental IT solution that is competitive in the global market through our collaboration with KECO.”
