LG CNS operates safety and health management systems for each data center and project, centering on the dedicated Safety & Health Environment Office, which is responsible for company-wide safety and health management. Based on the company-wide Safety and Health Management Regulations, it appoints safety and health officers for each business site, listens to employees’ opinions through the Occupational Safety and Health Committee and labor-management councils, and carries out improvement activities accordingly.
LG CNS first obtained ISO 45001 safety and health management system certification in 2019. All domestic business sites, including headquarters, each data center and construction projects, are covered by this certification, so 6,800 employees, or 98% of the workforce, work under the safety and health management system. AI Genius is an AX education social contribution program developed by LG CNS to nurture future IT talent among young people. The classes are built around hands-on practice and experiential activities so that students can build their thinking skills and improve their problem-solving abilities through basic learning in software and AI. LG CNS has been providing free education to young people since 2017 under an agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and is steadily expanding the program to students in remote areas and other vulnerable groups. By 2024, the program had provided education to more than 21,000 students.
- Education for middle school students
For middle schools in the free semester (or year) program, the course is scheduled during regular class hours and provides six periods a day of essential AI education. Middle school students experience hands-on practice on topics such as generative AI, chatbots, big data and building smart logistics robots, allowing them to learn AI and software in an easy and engaging way.
LG CNS employees voluntarily participate as instructors and mentors, helping students explore career paths and plan for the future. Experts from LG CNS working at the front line of AX businesses such as AI, big data and cloud serve as AI Genius instructors and provide high-quality education to students.
- Education for special schools
LG CNS runs tailored programs for students with disabilities who have limited access to software education. It offers hands-on classes where students can create their own stories using generative AI, work with AI self-driving cars and experience AI and the arts, and works to close the software education gap for vulnerable groups.
- Education for elementary schools
Second-year new employees at LG CNS take part as one-day coding teachers, visiting elementary schools in regions with limited access to IT culture to run one-day coding classes. Over four class periods, students use the Scratch coding platform to create their own games and take part in various hands-on activities, helping to lower the barriers to coding for elementary school students. Working in cooperation with regional education offices around the country, the program has reached five schools and 38 classes of students by 2025, with LG CNS new employees teaching directly so that children can experience software education in a more friendly and approachable way.
AI Genius Academy is an education program for high school students designed to nurture LG CNS’s future software and AI talent. Since 2021, the program has selected students with passion and aptitude in software and AI and provided differentiated training in cutting-edge IT technologies and mentoring. Through AI creative projects that incorporate new IT technologies, it offers direct support for students as they plan their future careers.

- AI Open Class: This is the first course in AI Genius Academy, where students naturally learn the basic principles and concepts of AI by solving around ten AI missions. Using videos and learning materials, students complete the missions and receive feedback from mentors, and free online content is provided to high school students across the country who want to study AI.
- Boot Camp: This is the preparation stage for advanced AI projects. Participants gather at LG Sciencepark, where LG CNS headquarters is located, to decide team project topics and set goals and plans. Through programs such as special lectures by LG CNS employees and classes on how to write project reports, they share their career concerns and have opportunities to learn together.
- AI Advanced Project: During the AI Advanced Project period, students carry out various activities to complete their AI project deliverables. As they go through this stage and face different problem situations, they have opportunities to grow to the next level. To help students complete their projects, LG CNS provides software and AI training, hardware production support and expert mentoring.
- AI Challenge Day: AI Challenge Day is an event where students share the final project results from AI Genius Academy and receive awards for outstanding work. It gives them the chance to learn from failure and to feel a sense of achievement through the process.
