■ Contributed to the implementation and stabilization of Indonesia’s next-generation Coretax system; discussions underway on AI-powered enhancements
■ More than 20 years of e-government projects in Indonesia demonstrate LG CNS’s global delivery capabilities
LG CNS (CEO: Shin Gyoon Hyun) has received a plaque of appreciation from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) in recognition of its contributions to the successful implementation of Coretax, the country’s next-generation tax administration system, and its continued technical and operational support.
The presentation ceremony was held on September 11 local time at DGT headquarters in Jakarta. Attendees included Hong-Keun Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Business Division at LG CNS; Bimo Wijayanto, Director General of Taxes; and Iwan Djuniardi, Expert Staff to the Minister of Finance for Tax Regulation and Enforcement, among others.
Coretax is a next-generation tax administration system introduced by DGT, an agency under Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance. It integrates previously fragmented processes, including taxpayer registration, filing, payment, refunds, tax audits and collection, into a single platform. The system is a key national initiative designed to move Indonesia’s tax administration onto a digital foundation. Through Coretax, the Indonesian government is working to streamline tax administration, improve convenience for taxpayers and establish a data-driven tax system, thereby strengthening the country’s fiscal foundation.
LG CNS formed a consortium with Austrian IT company Qualysoft GmbH and completed implementation of the system in December 2024. It subsequently worked with DGT through March 2026 to support system operations and stabilization. Since April, when DGT assumed responsibility for operating the system, LG CNS has continued to provide technical support under a maintenance contract covering the database and other core infrastructure.
Coretax has begun to deliver tangible results as its operations stabilize. According to Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance and DGT, tax revenue in the first half of 2026 reached IDR 1,035.7 trillion, equivalent to approximately KRW 79.1 trillion, an increase of about 24.6% year on year. Revenue increased across major tax categories, including corporate income tax, personal income tax and value-added tax. DGT said the increase was supported by the recovery in economic activity, stronger tax administration through Coretax and improved taxpayer compliance.
LG CNS and DGT are also discussing a further enhancement project that would add AI capabilities to Coretax. The planned use of AI for process automation and data analytics is expected to further improve the efficiency of tax administration and taxpayer services.
Over the past two decades, LG CNS has carried out e-government projects for major Indonesian public institutions, including the National Police and Ministry of Finance, in addition to Coretax. The company has further expanded its operations in Indonesia since 2025, including a KRW 100 billion project to build AI data center infrastructure in Jakarta.
