■ Signs co-investment agreement with General Atlantic to explore potential investments in enterprise technology companies in the global AI sector
■ Seeks to secure key assets to accelerate its AX business as enterprise software supporting core business operations and data grows in strategic importance in the agentic AI era
■ Strengthens its enterprise software business to generate stable, recurring revenue, and diversify its business portfolio, while accelerating expansion into North America, Asia-Pacific, and other global markets
LG CNS, led by CEO Shin-Gyoon Hyun, has formed a co-investment partnership with General Atlantic, a leading global investor, to pursue investments in enterprise technology companies in the global AI sector.
Enterprise technology refers to AI and software solutions that support core business operations across industries, including manufacturing, financial services, logistics, and energy.
LG CNS aims to diversify its business portfolio by further strengthening its enterprise software business, which generates stable, recurring revenue, alongside its existing IT services and AI transformation (AX) businesses. The company also seeks to establish a scalable foundation for growth in global markets.
The co-investment agreement was signed on September 24, local time, at General Atlantic’s headquarters in New York. The signing ceremony was attended by leadership from both companies, including Shin-Gyoon Hyun, CEO of LG CNS, and Martin Escobari, Co-President and Head of Global Growth Equity at General Atlantic.
Under the agreement, LG CNS and General Atlantic will jointly identify enterprise technology companies in the AI sector and explore potential investment opportunities. The size and terms of each investment will be disclosed on a case-by-case basis once the investment target is confirmed.
General Atlantic is a leading global investor with $130 billion (approximately KRW 175 trillion) in assets under management as of June 30, 2026. Headquartered in New York, the firm has more than 900 employees across 20 countries and brings over 45 years of experience investing in technology companies, a global network, and deep value creation capabilities.
By combining LG CNS’ industry-leading AX execution capabilities in Korea with General Atlantic’s global investment expertise, the two companies expect to jointly identify high-quality enterprise technology companies and explore potential synergies between investment and business operations on a global scale.
LG CNS plans to use these investments as a springboard to further expand its existing enterprise software business. By securing software assets with proprietary intellectual property (IP), the company aims to strengthen its stable revenue base through licensing and subscriptions. It also intends to draw on acquired software technologies and customer bases to lay the groundwork for expanding offerings that combine IT services and AX with software in global markets.
The growing adoption of agentic AI is also increasing the strategic value of enterprise software. For AI to understand a company’s operations and make decisions and take action autonomously, it must integrate with enterprise software that manages core business operations and data while meeting security, regulatory, and other requirements.
LG CNS plans to use the enterprise software it secures to broaden its customer reach, focusing on North America and extending to Asia-Pacific and other regions, while exploring new business opportunities.
“With AI accelerating innovation in how companies work, proactively securing enterprise software that supports core business operations and data will be a key driver in building a foundation for future growth,” said Shin-Gyoon Hyun, CEO of LG CNS. “Together with General Atlantic, we will secure the core business foundations that will shape our future growth and combine them with LG CNS’ AX capabilities to create new value for our customers.”(END)
