Certified
Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)
LG CNS has acquired and maintained the certification of environmental management system (ISO 14001). This certification evaluates, includes all factors affecting the relations between environments and all related business activities to improve environmental quality in accordance with the requirements of the ISO.
Safety and Health Management System (ISO 45001)
LG CNS has also acquired and maintained the certification of safety and health management system (ISO 45001). This certifies that the system improves safety and health through the establishment, implementation, inspection, correction, and review of safety and health policies in accordance with ISO international standards.
Brill Awards Winner
The LG CNS Busan data center was selected as an outstanding data center in the design field at the Brill Awards, the most prestigious award in the data center industry, selected annually by the Uptime Institute. Consideration of energy efficiency and safety from the design stage was highly praised. At the time, the LG CNS Busan Data Center applied the world’s only data center chimney system, “Pungdo,” and the world’s first patented “built-up outdoor air cooling system.” By introducing the first seismic isolation facilities in Korea, LG CNS was able to provide uninterrupted service to customers even in the event of an earthquake of 8.0 on the Richter scale.
Greenhouse Gas Reduction
The Emissions Trading System is a government program that allocates a total amount of greenhouse gas emissions to companies in advance, to motivate companies reduce their greenhouse gas emissions through independent greenhouse gas reduction goals and emission rights trading, in accordance with the Framework Act on Low Carbon, Green Growth.
In order to efficiently respond to the program, LG CNS is operating a greenhouse gas inventory system that can automatically measure data center power consumption and aggregate greenhouse gas emissions in real time. In line with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international environmental certification, LG CNS is actively responding to external demands to strengthen the eco-friendliness of their systems.
LG CNS operates data centers by developing and applying multiple solutions to reduce energy consumption in data centers with high electricity demands. In addition, LG CNS is improving energy use efficiency in buildings by introducing new and renewable energy sources and energy efficiency improvement facilities. LG CNS operates eco-friendly data centers by developing and applying solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and has developed, built, and now operates an eco-friendly IT system for the integrated operation of data center infrastructure.
The Sangam eco-friendly IT system design reduces greenhouse gas emissions by efficiently managing computer room energy through fault detection, analysis, and control through integrated monitoring of infrastructure that accounts for electricity, mechanics, temperature and humidity controls, lighting, etc. and security facilities among others. Also, the world’s first built-up outdoor air cooling system, an patented eco-friendly cooling system using natural outdoor air, that is built into the design of all of our data centers. LG CNS further contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through our development and use of centralized air conditioning systems and server cooling devices, and use of high-efficiency Uninterruptible Power Supplies [UPS] and LED lighting, in all of our data centers.

Operation of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee
The Occupational Safety and Health Committee of LG CNS promotes workplace safety and health through active employee participation.
In the committee, management and employee representatives meet on a quarterly basis to discuss and make decisions on important issues related to workplace safety and health.
The LG CNS COVID-19 Prevention and Response System
In response to ongoing issues with Covid 19, LG CNS has prepared a working manual for responding to the crisis of infectious diseases and established R&R and emergency response processes for each organization.
Based on this manual, LG CNS were able to systematically respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by operating emergency room, monitoring employee infection, telecommuting and self-isolation of employees and our partners.
Employee CPR Training
LG CNS conducts personalized online and offline safety and health training that caters to different needs of employees to improve their safety and health awareness.
LG CNS has operated the CPR Practice Experience Center since 2020 to improve employees’ ability to respond to emergencies. Training at this center uses the LG CNS virtual reality and immersive simulation practice dummies for hands on CPR training.
Office Environment Monitoring
LG CNS operates an ongoing monitoring system and equipment that measures and maintains indoor workplace air quality to provide the best office environment for our employees.
In addition, LG CNS also operates massage services, medical consultation and care services, and a psychological counseling room to safeguard the physical and mental health of our employees.
Occupational Hazard Prevention
To achieve hazard-free and accident-free conditions at all business sites, LG CNS has a company-wide safe work environment diagnosis system, and uses it to conduct regular safety inspections.
To further improve this system, LG CNS is establishing proactive measures and methods to discover and remove safety and environmental risk factors in advance.
